Art overrides standards and opens new rooms of fantasy, of conscientiousness, of creative work.

Next to the theatre, affine genres dealing with other conditions of the power-units of art and craziness are blooming. Under this shell "madness & arts" presented a row of special films, a course of lectures and the art exhibition.

The medium film, which lives from illusions and is moves close to craziness, was represented by 5 magically touching documentaries. Young movies from the years 2000 to 2004 celebrated the lunacy of art in a special manner. People with their stories, manias and visions were, in a sensible but powerful way, put in scene within the contributions from Denmark, Bulgaria, Switzerland and USA.

The lectures illustrated contemporary art and its image in relationship to the areas of education, Psychiatry and Therapy. Madness as a motor or subject in visual arts, psychic illness as subject of media science, the essential question about limits of ratio and the perpetual dream of flying were dealt with by the international speakers. The diversified series was widely received as inspiring by the audience of experts.

The exhibits title "wave length" was the program. Artists out ofpsychiatry and professional artists met in a dialogical project andpresented the results of their cooperation together. Whether sickor healthy was hardly detectable in the works of the 24 artists. - Art is art.
